To add to @Avi comment, that in the best case scenario, there is little testability to such a claim. In the cases I've looked into, the people that claim such past lives do not have any unique information to offer. Therefore, I feel that reincarnation is a moot point; mostly because it provides the 'victim' with no additional information. Such claims can be reduced to a simpler equation; why claim you had past lives, when an incredibly substantial part of them is lost. This puts one in the position of having no extra information, and a larger necessity to justify such a claim.
