Referring to an article America’s Most Dangerous Pill? Klonopin, written by Christopher Byron:

Klonopin takes longer to metabolize and passes through your system more slowly than other benzos, so in theory you don’t need to take it so frequently. But if you like the high it gives you, and keep increasing your dosage, the addictive effects of the drug accumulate quickly and can often be devastating. The drug’s label clearly specifies that it is “recommended” only for short-term use—say, seven to 10 days—but once exposed to the pill’s seductive side-effects, many patients come back for more.

Is there any evidence showing that Clonazepam ( or Klonopin)

  1. is addictive
  2. causes side effects, as claimed by the article above?
