May 10, 2011 at 15:33 comment added JasonR I think the addition of the word "chronic" is to differentiate the disease from normal feelings of sadness due to things like grief and life events. It's a clarification, not a removal.
May 10, 2011 at 15:08 comment added hooray The definition from DSM-IV is vague. I couldn't find it in their website. The definition from DSM-V is still under revision, and it is about "chronic depression", not depression itself. May I conclude that depression won't be considered a disease anymore, when DSM-V comes out?
