Are heart attacks due to Vitamin C deficiency? I think the contained claim -- Bears do not suffer heart attacks -- would make a good question in and of itself. |

Radiation dangers with GPS/navigation cellphone apps @t0x1n "Some national radiation advisory authorities..." is not a definite reference. Can you provide a more specific citation? People are picky about that kind of thing here, and it helps in evaluating the credibility of the specific source, |

Radiation dangers with GPS/navigation cellphone apps Some of the traffic reports on Garmin navigation units were broadcast on subcarriers of large local FM radio stations. On cellphones there might indeed be some back and forth with the server. However, having the phone in a holder on your dash means you absorb less radio waves when it transmits than if it is up against your ear. And the phone's transmitter is fairly low power (a few watts) and licensed by your country's regulatory authorities, so why all the irrational fear? |

Is the value of a tree $193,250? With a few exceptions (such as the desert southwest), most suburban USA properties have a lawn with one or more trees. If each tree were worth $193,000, then the current financial crisis in real estate could be easily solved by homeowners simply refinancing or selling trees. If that solution sounds like nonsense, so is that high appraisal of the value of a tree. |

Is the value of a tree $193,250? Things can have prices in Economics, as well as costs and benefits to specific individuals. These can vary with the circumstances of time and place (see Hayek, The Use of Knowledge in Society: econlib.org/library/Essays/hykKnw1.html ). The "true value" of a thing sounds like numerology. It would not be part of a college economics curricula. |

Claimed similarities between Jesus Christ and Horus and other Gods Comedian Bill Maher in his infotainment documentary Religulous, also alleges some of these same similarities between beliefs in Jesus Christ and Horus. Wikipedia credits the "comparison" to Egyptologist Gerald Massey in his 1907 book The Light of the World. A group of Egyptologists is reported as dismissing the idea as fringe. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religulous |

Can lightning restore sight? It is from the 1800s... should be public domain. Found it... it is kinda long, dont have time to search for the exact pages describing these events but it should be in there: gutenberg.org/files/41445/41445-0.txt |

Can lightning restore sight? I read somewhere that early Transylvanian experiments with lightning were banned after an angry mob laid siege to a local castle containing a laboratory specifically designed to conduct research during thunderstorms. Allegedly, a lightning-reanimated corpse scared the townsfolk. If lightning could restore life, maybe it could cure blindness. |
