Does the Quran advise men to beat their wives if they disobey them? Some of us understand that women are held sacred in Islam, but what we find offensive is that striking of any kind is ever possibly an option. If you have to strike anybody then both of you have already lost. I wouldn't feel right to even strike an animal let alone anybody else. |

Do workplace performance appraisals and workplace goal-setting actually hurt morale? @NimChimpsky Nice... maybe write an answer then? Just reference everything you say, this site is tough as nails on referencing every single statement and opinion. |

@Chris 1) Are you trolling? 2) What do you mean by more Liberal? Do you mean this in the American Politics sense of the word? The European Economics sense of the word? Or is this just a poor word choice for saying that you are not going to close and delete every other question and answer? |

Was Ambassador Christopher Stevens raped before his death? @Chad That is a terrible reason to down vote a question. You don't need any more reason to question a dubious claim than the pursuit of truth in every thing that we do. |

Are voter ID laws harmful to minority voters? @jwenting You still have to register to vote in your district though. When you show up to vote your name has to be on that list of registered voters in the district, so the only real fraud that can occur is if somebody shows up and claims to be a different registered voter in that district, and he/she knows that this person is not voting or has not voted yet. You can only vote that one day and the districts are small enough that it would be overly burdensome to pull this off for a handful of votes. Voter fraud of this kind is just not worth it and facts prove this. |

Do investment managers pick stock portfolios better, on average, than monkeys throwing darts? Great question! I think a more interesting experiment however would be replacing the dart monkey with a casual amateur stock trader. Somebody who knows enough to understand how picking stocks works, but not necessarily how to best analyse performance graphs and evaluate earnings potential. Play money isn't risky enough, so the stocks will be out of date and the future performance predetermined so that when they make a poor pick they get an uncomfortable electrical shock. When they do good they gift cards or coupons. This will simulate risk/reward in real life. |

Is NASA working on warp drive? Just because it is in a report doesn't mean that they are actually "working" on it. They are probably working on it in much the same way that the CDC is preparing a plan for a zombie outbreak |

Do wasps and yellow jackets leave pheremones that attract them to return to old nests? Thank you for the well thought out answer, but I am sure you know how the mods here will jump on you if you don't cite sources. |
