Is the Amazon rain forest man-made? @Oddthinking Papua Nova Guine is in another continent, 17.000km from the Amazon. This is the tribe: youtube.com/watch?v=sLErPqqCC54, here is video of first contact with such a tribe (not sure it's the same): youtube.com/watch?v=RUDqf2UDhqk. They estimate about 70 other uncontacted tribes in the Amazon. |

Is the Amazon rain forest man-made? @dmckee also, most indigenous people nowadays wear trousers. They also smoke, drink and gamble, thanks to modern civilization! |

Is the Amazon rain forest man-made? @dmckee nope, maybe that's not the correct figure, but it's considered unexplored by man. You probably remember a news report a few years back that an uncontacted tribe was found, completely isolated from civilization since no-one-knows. It's pretty hard to move in the jungle. |

Does a miracle of spontaneous “holy fire” occur in a Jerusalem church every year? The Catholic church I attended with my grandma had an "eternal fire" gold burner in the altar. Being a student of the catholic school in the neighbouring block, I inquired one of the nuns one day, only to find out that it's a red lamp lit by batteries... |

Can we grow enough crops to feed all people on Earth? "it would be much easier to feed the world population on a vegetarian diet than with a meat-rich diet" - that's a far out assumption. You couldn't properly feed the world on corn, soy, wheat and rice. Many of the needed vitamins are found in foods that are not as easily produced in mass. |

Was the Earth originally smaller and ocean-free? The earth did have a single landmass (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pangaea), but there was an ocean sized accordingly. |

Does putting warm food in the refrigerator make it more likely to give you food poisoning than letting it cool off first and then refrigerating it? Forgot: one logical reason to wait a little is to avoid condensation. |

Is “blue scorpion venom” a legitimate treatment for cancer? @LanceLafontaine "ESCOZUL positive effects are undeniable facts, even if the final results that prove it have not been published yet" - okay... I think it will be hard to get an answer to this, unless there are papers on it elsewhere in the world. |
