Can microwaved water explode? @dm.skt Alas, no amount of persuasion on my part has so far caused water to behave this way :-). I tried various ways to try to induce the transition but so far no "luck". Very disappointing. |

Have all sustainable cultures been illiterate (or not made a fetish of reading)? @matt_black [I live in New Zealand]. | Rapanui / Easter Island seems a valid example of your point due to the small geographical size, immense degree of isolation and heavy environmental pressures imposed by the population. | But, while NZ Maori did exterminate some species (eg Moas) (and combined with Europeans to exterminate others (eg Huia) I'd query whether they had anywhere near enough impact on the total ecosystem capacity to alter its ability to support sustainability. And the Australian Aboriginals, less so. |

Does masturbating everynight cause problems in the future? The quote contains elements of scientific observation wrapped up in far too much opinion and conjecture, all presented as if its fact. There is little doubt that our persistent behaviours in any area have long term effects on how our brain deals with our body, but there is no reason to have confidence in this persons competence in this area. The advice is given on a homeopathy and health forum by people identified as "non-medical professionals". All that said, it seems likely that there is the potential for frequent masturbation to affect a tendency to premature ejaculation in some people. |

Does the new Testament claim that Mary, mother of Jesus, was a virgin? I think Garret appears to misunderstand what Ward says. Ward says that the Bible clearly [tm] states that Mary was a virgin both directly and also by application of a prophesy, so that people who chose some other potentially ambiguous passage to claim that she was not a virgin are cherry picking. Whereas, draws deep breath, a Mentat analysis (Gurney Halleck style) of Garret's adumbration suggests that he thinks the cherry pickers are those who claim that she is a virgin, based on Biblical "analysis". No? [But, I may be wrong :-) ] |
