I was told by a friend, that slavery is still legal in Decatur, Alabama. Is this true? I am truly astonished, if it is.
Didn't Lincoln emancipate slaves all over the country?

No matter how small a place is, isn't it a big enough phenomenon? – Lelouch Lamperouge Dec 29 '11 at 11:33

Sure - however, a part from your friend, nobody actually believes that, or if they do, please provide some proof :-) – Sklivvz Dec 29 '11 at 12:45
I guess you are right, googling this gave me quite a few websites, but they look far from reliable, so until my friend provides some sort of proof, I concur with you. – Lelouch Lamperouge Dec 29 '11 at 18:52
"Didn't Lincoln emancipate slaves all over the country" - No just those in the south(the slaves in the north were still property). But the 13th Amendment to the Constitution did on 12/6/1865 8 months after he died. – Chad Dec 29 '11 at 20:08
