There are various claims like this that, many aspect ratios of human body is in accordance with PHI or the golden ratio(1.618 0339 887...). And for these ratios, human body looks well proportioned. Is this claim ok? How about the physical aspect ratios of other animals or mamals of ape family? If the claim is right, how this can be explained?

Given the degree of variation among body shapes the best you could hope for is some kind of mean or a highly subjective claim about the "proper" ratio for some measurements. Also, consider the odd that if you collect enough measurements you'll find some pair or pairs close to the golden ratio. Should we compare to the common house cat? The horse? – dmckee Dec 27 '11 at 18:30
At most, one could claim the body is "well proportioned", certainly not beautiful! :-) – Sklivvz Dec 27 '11 at 18:41

Looking at the nonsense about 5: By definition, appendages would appear to include penis, testicles and breasts, wouldn't they? Any how do they count 5 holes in the head? Is the nose one or two? If you include the ears, do you include the eyes? What about the hole in the skull for the spinal column? The number of senses is even more problematic. Not to mention this being homo sapiens-centric, where nature isn't. – Oddthinking Nov 24 '12 at 9:33
Doesn't look as this question is constructive: it is asking for a list where a negative answer is impossible to give and all positive answers are equally valid ("Is there any..."). It is also very extensive and speculative. In primis not constructive, in secundis, too broad and finally off-topic. – Sklivvz Nov 24 '12 at 11:20
